What's a Kinder Egg Surprise?

Kinder Eggs are the coolest candy you can get anywhere (except for the United States but I'll get into that later).

Here's your average box of three eggs,
purchased somewhere that is not Germany.

Here's your average box of three eggs,
purchased in Germany.

What's the difference between Kinder Eggs from Germany as opposed to ones from elsewhere? Generally speaking, not much but, also generally speaking, the German prizes (where the candy originates from) are of a little better quality whereas the non-German ones are made by a different company using the secret German plans.

If you live in the USA, you may notice that you've never seen these at the checkout counter of your local Whatever-Mart. That's because our government has deemed these treats as dangerous to it's citizenry! Because the prize is actually inside the candy, they think that someone could choke on it. That seems to make sense but, in actuality, the prize is encased in a plastic capsule (see below) that you would have a hard time forcing down an adult throat let alone a 3-year-old kid's. So the Kinder Egg is basically the victim of a technicality. A weak technicality that deprives Americans from enjoying the coolest candy/prize combination ever. Cracker Jack has nothing on these sweet eggs of magical, um... magicness.

1

Here we see 3 eggs in their natural habitat. Usually found in countries that are not the USA and sometimes in the deepest cavernous bowels of stranded, derelict spaceships.

2

Here we have an egg of the German variety. Innocent looking enough...

3

Here the foil covering begins to peel away...

4

Here we begin to see the egg and it's surface features. Notice the white chocolate at the seam...

5

Here the foil skin has fallen away much like the dead skin of a snake but more shiny.

6

Here we see the naked egg. Alluring and at the same time sinister...

7

Something's inside! Cover your face!

8

What's that?! Some sort of yellow capsule! Is it from another world or Germany?

9

The mysterious capsule in detail. Something appears to be pulsing inside the semi-transparent skin...

10

Run away!

11

Some sort of alien weapon?

12

Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh! I mean, 'Oooooohhhhh! How cute!'
